The government has been urged to initiate plans to decrease the salaries of Members of Parliament, District, and City chairpersons to allocate more reasonable pay to local council chairpersons for their significant contributions.
Captain JB Timusiime emphasized that local council one chairperson and committee members play crucial roles in managing and upholding the security of people and their property, often in collaboration with the Uganda Police Force. He highlighted that the current payment of ten thousand shillings per month is inadequate considering the level of service they provide.
These remarks were made by Captain JB Timusiime during a political mobilization program with the local council one chairperson of Bubaare sub-county, organized under the umbrella organization, Bubaare Grassroot Leaders Association, in Kobwoba village, Kashaka, Bubaare sub-county, Kashari South, Mbarara district.
He encouraged these leaders to facilitate regular joint community meetings to identify and address security challenges in their respective areas, fostering the exchange of ideas and experiences to effectively manage the causes of insecurity.
Captain JB Timusiime Bamuturaki Omudumizi, who is laying the groundwork to run for a parliamentary seat in Kashari South, Mbarara district, urged the public to carefully select and vote for political leaders capable of advocating for quality development services.
Bahumbiza Frederick, the chairperson of LC 1 Rugarama 1, expressed gratitude to the former Mbarara district chairperson, Captain JB Timusiime Bamuturaki Omudumizi, for his visionary leadership and dedication to serving the people.
Bahumbiza also informed the chief guest that the Bubaare Grassroot Leaders Association has been instrumental in helping members generate resources through contributions to pay school fees for their children and in mobilizing married couples to combat gender-based violence, which hampers socio-economic development.
