The Rukungiri District WMP NRM flag bearer, Hon. Turyahikayo Kebirungi Mary Paula, this afternoon opened her campaigns in Kebisoni Sub-county, starting in Garubunda Parish, where she received a warm welcome and endorsement from residents who publicly gave testimonies praising the essential services she delivered during her leadership.
While speaking at Garubunda Church, the Garubunda LC2 Chairperson, Mr. Rwamunono Jackson, together with the Kanyeganyege Cell LC1 Chairperson, Mr. Enock Katuregye, hailed Hon. Paula for lobbying essential services in their area. They announced that, as reflected in their records even during the last primaries, they have been massively electing Mary Paula at 100% and pledged to repeat the same in the forthcoming general elections to send her back to Parliament, this time representing the whole district together with President Museveni.
Other residents, led by Mr. Byamuntu Eldard together with Mr. Katungi Edward Muhwezi, also massively praised Hon. Mary Paula for working hard and delivering services during her time in Parliament, especially extending electricity, clean water, and supporting schools, youths, women, and elderly people, including other essential services.
They swore to have fully endorsed her as Garubunda residents, together with Andrewson Katebire Charles and President Museveni, for more development.
Meanwhile, the Rukungiri District WMP aspirant and NRM flag bearer, Mary Paula Turyahikayo, thanked Garubunda residents for endorsing her with massive support, even during the NRM primaries. She kindly asked for support and vote security from voters across different opposition political parties, urging them to focus on service delivery leaders who can embrace social and economic development beyond political party lines.
Recalling the start-up of Boona Radio in 2018 during her third term as Rubabo MP, she hailed the support and endorsement they gave her, which resulted in development in the area.
Acknowledging that some areas still lack electricity and Kahengye clean water, she said these areas have already been surveyed, adding that after winning the election as Rukungiri WMP, she is ready to continue and complete those projects, including lobbying for Boona TV.
