Rev. Father Fidel Ndagijimaana, the Pastoral Coordinator for Kabale Diocese, encouraged students to set clear visions and goals to guide them through their academic journey.

During a mass at St. Peter’s Secondary School Nyarushanje for St. Peter and St. Paul’s Day celebrations and the launch of a multi-billion three-story multipurpose building, Fr. Fidel emphasized the importance of giving a time frame to goals to ensure they are achieved promptly. He expressed gratitude to parents for their efforts in providing education for their children and urged students to maintain discipline to achieve their life goals and bring happiness to their parents.

Fr. Fidel also encouraged parents to place their hopes in their children and trust in God, asserting that with God’s help, anything is possible.

Arinaitwe Godfrey, the Headteacher of St. Peter’s Secondary School Nyarushanje, highlighted the school’s urgent need for repairs on several buildings that are nearing collapse. He called on government officials and parents to assist in this effort. He also praised the initiative of former students in constructing a multipurpose building, which will facilitate the school’s operations amidst growing student enrollment, now exceeding 1,000.

Hon. Namanya Naboth, the Rubabo Constituency legislator and an alumnus of the school, who was the chief host of the event, acknowledged the contributions of parents, staff, former students, and well-wishers for their cooperation and unity in the school’s development. He emphasized that the community should not wait for government assistance, given the limited budget and the widespread need among many schools in the country.

Hon. Arnest Katara, the Aspiring Member of Parliament for Rubabo Constituency and the Chief Guest, advised students to maintain discipline in their education, describing it as the key to success. He also urged teachers to guide students in selecting courses that will benefit their future careers rather than excelling in subjects with little value in the competitive job market.
