Former Ntungamo district chairperson, John Wycliffe Karazarwe, urged current leaders to practice honesty to gain the trust and support of the people.
Speaking at the burial of Robinah Byamutagara in Nombe Nyabushenyi, Ntungamo, Karazarwe, who is also a senior presidential advisor on Local Governments, emphasized the importance of preserving the government’s history of peace, which stemmed from years of bloodshed and suffering, by maintaining a positive mindset. He encouraged leaders to repent and seek God as their savior.
Robinah Byamutagara was the mother of Joram Bashaija, the chairman of Nyabushenyi sub-county. Ntungamo woman MP, Bata Kamateneti, also spoke at the event, urging adults to care for their parents as a way of giving back for their efforts.
She cautioned those in office against resorting to corruption to support their families. Bashaija, who was an only child, mentioned that his mother loved the country and worked hard to develop their family.
