The former Head Catechist of St. Benedict Ndama Parish in Kabale Diocese, Mr. Dominic Bareberaho, was laid to rest today, 15th December 2025, at his ancestral home in Magoma Cell, Nyeibingo Parish, Kebisoni Sub-county in Rukungiri District.
The late Dominic Bareberaho served the Catholic Church with dedication as a catechist in Nyakibale and Ndama parishes, where he played a key role in strengthening the faith of Christians. He is particularly remembered for his outstanding contribution towards the establishment and growth of Ndama Parish.
While addressing mourners, the Parish Priest of Ndama Catholic Church, Rev. Father Achilles Tumukurate, praised the legacy left behind by the deceased, describing it as a testimony of a life lived in faith and service to God. He called upon Christians to remain steadfast in their belief and live in a way that prepares them for eternal life.
Rev. Father Steven Nuwandinda, the Assistant Priest at Karujanga Catholic Parish in Katuna Town Council, Kabale District, described the late Bareberaho as a devoted servant of God whose life inspired many to answer God’s calling with commitment and faithfulness.
The widow, Mrs. Josephina Bareberaho, thanked God for the life of her husband, describing him as a responsible and caring family man. She noted that his death followed a long period of illness during which he underwent several medical operations.
One of his sons, Mr. Pritazio Kusasira, paid tribute to his father for instilling strong Christian values, hard work, and the importance of education among his children.
Mr. Dominic Bareberaho passed on at the age of 81. He is survived by one widow, 12 children, 41 grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
