Honest Natukwasa Wilkins, the former custodian of Great Lakes Regional University, has been imprisoned on charges of defrauding land titles registered in the university’s name.

The charge sheet was presented for the first time on behalf of Kanungu Grade One Magistrate Mukoobi Athanathious, in front of the honorable court and witnesses, including Hamlet Kabushenga, at Kanungu Grade One Court in Kanungu Town Council, Kanungu District.

After the case was read, the accused, Natukwasa, pleaded not guilty, prompting the Grade One Magistrate to send him to prison and extend the hearing to Wednesday, June 5th, 2024.

Hamlet Kabushenga, the founder of Great Lakes Regional University, stated that Natukwasa had been sanctioned for illegally accessing documents since January 3rd, 2021.

The case file no. 746 of 2023, which accuses Natukwasa of leading a gang of thieves who stole university property, including land titles, was read by the honorable court, and he is now awaiting trial.

Hamlet further explained that Natukwasa’s contract ended in September 2021. Despite this, Natukwasa mobilized a mob and led a gang that committed theft, prompting Hamlet to report him to the police and ultimately to the courts of law.
