Rev Father Chrispino Mubangizi of St. Peter’s Buyanja parish emphasized the importance of a positive relationship between parents and teachers for the success of children. Father Chrispino made these remarks during a thanksgiving mass at the graduation of nursery pupils from Rwenkurijo Primary School in Nyakaina parish, Buyanja sub-county, Rukungiri district.
Addressing the congregation at the school headquarters, Rev Father highlighted the crucial role teachers play in caring for children in the absence of parents. He urged parents to foster a good relationship with teachers to support their children’s academic journey.
Madam Hilder Mbabazi Ngabirano, the coordinator of Join for Joy, a branch of Caritas Kabale, attended the event as the chief guest. She reminded parents not to neglect their responsibilities during the holiday, recalling instances during the Covid-19 pandemic when children engaged in negative activities such as fornication, theft, and drug abuse.
Mr. Niwagaba Alex, the school headteacher, expressed gratitude to parents for choosing Rwenkurijo Primary School for their children. He encouraged parents to impart additional skills to their children during the teachers’ absence.
The chairman of the management committee, Mr. Turyatunga Naris, and the chairman of the Parent-Teacher Association, Mr. Biryomumisho Alex, urged parents to maintain cooperation with teachers for the continued academic success of their children. They assured parents that Rwenkurijo Primary School would continue to shine.
Mr. Rurema Francis, the catchiest of Uganda Martyrs Catholic Centre, called on parents to responsibly nurture their children in accordance with Christian faith.
