All Primary Seven learners from schools in the Eastern Division of Rukungiri Municipality are set to sit for pre-PLE examinations provided by the division, with a call for thorough preparation ahead of the final Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE).

The distribution of the examinations took place today at the Eastern Division headquarters, where school headteachers from all schools in the division collected the exams.

According to David Tumwesigye, the Chairperson of Eastern Division, the purpose of the examinations is to help students improve their performance, especially as they prepare to compete at the national level in their final exams. Tumwesigye noted that the division has been providing these exams for years, and they have significantly contributed to better student outcomes. The division’s schools have consistently shown performance improvement, which motivates them to continue this initiative.

He acknowledged that some schools still face challenges such as inadequate classrooms, toilets, and staff quarters, but he assured the public that the division is working closely with the municipality to address these issues, ensuring a conducive learning and teaching environment for both students and teachers.

He also praised parents for collaborating with school administrations to ensure their children’s success.

Mugisha Bruno, the headteacher of Nyakibale Upper and Chairperson of Rukungiri Municipality Headteachers, commended the Eastern Division administration for its continued support of schools and students’ development. He emphasized that these pre-PLE exams are valuable in helping students build confidence ahead of their final PLE exams.

Mugisha urged his fellow headteachers to adhere to the PLE timetable and begin administering the exams to students starting tomorrow. He expressed optimism for improved results in the upcoming PLE exams.
