The Rukungiri district carpenters Enyooga sacco defaulters are to face arrest for failure to pay back the money as required by the government.
This was resolved during the Rukungiri district carpenters Emyooga annual general meeting that happened on Thursday at all saints church Rukungiri.
While addressing the meeting, Mr Owoyesigiire Pere who is the commercial officer Rukungiri municipality said that it’s so unfortunate that some people from different Emyooga groups have intentionally refused to pay back the money because they have been influenced by false information that the Emyooga money was token of appreciation from the president.
He cautioned all Emyooga group chairpersons who have failed to perform their responsibilities, to be examples by paying first so that they can be able to encourage other group members.
Oyoyesigiire requests all Emyooga group chairpersons to compile lists of defaulters with their records showing money they are supposed to pay so that they can get in touch with the SACCO management, commercial officers, and the office of the RDC to execute an arrest.
Mr Cooper Martin the chairperson of Rukungiri Carpenters Eyooga Sacco, in his speech, expressed dismay with some Emyooga group chairpersons saying that some of them received money but never gave it to the intended beneficiaries.
He urged all Emyooga group chairpersons to cooperate with their group members and make sure they clear to zero balance or wait for the arrest.
