The M23 Movement has designated Corneille Nangaa Yobeluo as the coordinator of the Congo River Alliance, a coalition comprising civil organizations in the Democratic Republic of Congo. The primary objective of this alliance is to bring an end to the tumultuous and exploitative governance of the current government.

In a statement released on January 2, 2024, by Bertrand Bisimwa, the President of M23 rebels, Yobeluo is hailed as a dedicated compatriot who has sacrificed everything to fervently serve the national cause. Bisimwa underscores Yobeluo’s steadfast commitment to liberating the Democratic Republic of Congo and calls upon all Congolese to unite under the banner of the Congo River Alliance.

According to Bisimwa, this alliance represents the singular platform capable of emancipating the country and establishing a governance system that prioritizes the well-being of all citizens, promoting peace, reconciliation, harmony, and progress.

Bisimwa discloses that the M23 Movement has collaborated with various civil and political organizations to form the Congo River Alliance, a comprehensive platform committed to the ongoing revolutionary struggle against the disorderly and predatory rule of the incumbent regime. He accuses the ruling regime of inflicting harm upon its citizens, forcing many into the unfortunate choice between exile and a destitute life.

Reassuring the Congolese people, Bisimwa asserts that the M23 Movement is actively working to eliminate any threats to the tranquility and freedom of citizens. He unequivocally states that the war and poor governance imposed by the President Tshisekedi regime will no longer be tolerated, not only in the areas already liberated but also in those yet to be freed.
