Hundreds of believers on Thursday afternoon gathered in Omukitebe village, Kyaruhuuga Ward in Nyamunuka Town Council, Kajara County, Ntungamo District to witness the official opening of Elizabeth Ministries International, a new church founded by Nabi Harriet Kyarimpa Nalongo.

The event attracted Christians from different areas who turned up to celebrate the establishment of the ministry, which leaders say aims to strengthen evangelism and promote unity within communities.

While preaching during the service, Apostle Dan Mushabe of Mushabe Faith Ministries International urged Christians to embrace hard work and avoid laziness. Taking his scripture from Psalms 6, Apostle Mushabe encouraged believers to engage in income-generating activities such as piggery, goat rearing, poultry keeping and vegetable farming in order to improve household incomes and fight poverty.

He cautioned Christians against spending excessive time in prayer without engaging in productive activities, emphasizing that God blesses those who work hard rather than those who remain idle.

Apostle Mushabe also advised Christians to build meaningful friendships and relationships that can positively shape their future. He noted that healthy relationships can open doors to employment opportunities and help individuals build good reputations in society. He added that discipline, trust and faith in Jesus Christ as a personal saviour are key to achieving success in life.

Speaking during the launch, Nabi Harriet Kyarimpa Nalongo said Elizabeth Ministries International was established to focus on evangelism, community sensitization and educating people on how to live in harmony through unity and togetherness.

She thanked the community members and fellow believers who supported and encouraged her during the early stages of the ministry despite the challenges she faced. Nabi Harriet noted that starting a ministry is often difficult but expressed optimism that it will grow and positively impact people’s lives.

Quoting Job 8:7, she encouraged believers not to despise small beginnings, saying that humble beginnings can lead to a prosperous future.

Nabi Harriet also emphasized that the ministry does not discriminate against people based on religion, clan or background. She said the church aims to strengthen God’s work through prayer, fellowship, guidance and counselling while encouraging people to support one another in all aspects of life.

She explained that establishing the ministry in her home area was also intended to address misconceptions that Born Again churches only aim at collecting money from believers. According to her, the focus of Elizabeth Ministries International is purely on spreading the gospel and serving the community.

Deus Musasizi, a Born Again believer from the area, welcomed the new church and said its presence would help expand evangelism while offering spiritual guidance and counselling to residents. He expressed hope that the ministry will inspire people to live better lives and become positive examples within their communities.
