During today’s service at St. Mathew Cathedral Kyamate, South Ankole Diocese, believers were encouraged to deepen their faith in Christianity, drawing inspiration from Mary Magdalene’s unwavering trust in Jesus Christ after His resurrection.
Mrs. Jenrious Kamukama Maguzi, leader of the Christian Women Fellowship at Kyamate, preached from the Gospel of John 20:11. She highlighted how Mary Magdalene remained steadfast upon witnessing the risen Christ, contrasting her faith with that of Peter, who fled when he saw the angels at Jesus’ tomb. Mrs. Maguzi urged Christians to build a strong and personal faith in Christ, who she described as “the way, the truth, and the life.”
She also emphasized the importance of placing trust in Christ rather than in fellow humans, noting that sharing problems with others often leads to gossip, mistrust, and division within families. Mrs. Maguzi encouraged Christians to dedicate their lives and activities to Christ and to see churches as vital places that bring them closer to the true source of solutions.
Rev. Goddie Amanya, the curate at Kyamate Church of Uganda, receiving the message, called on Christians to forgive those who have wronged them or disturbed their lives, as holding onto resentment damages their Christian values. He further urged the congregation to live exemplary lives by engaging in charity work and steering clear of sins such as immorality, drug abuse, witchcraft, envy, and other earthly temptations.
The service left a strong message of faith, forgiveness, and moral living for the Christian community in Ntungamo Municipality.Christians Urged to Strengthen Their Faith Following Mary Magdalene’s Example
