The vicar of Emmanuel Cathedral Kinyasano, Rev. Kamusiime Moses, has urged Christians to remain steadfast and avoid sin if they wish to maintain a strong relationship with God.
Speaking today during a Sunday service at St. Luke’s Kahoko Mitooma Church of Uganda in Nyakahyeme Archdeaconry, North Kigezi Diocese, Rev. Kamusiime emphasized that many people deliberately sin, believing their actions are private. However, he warned that such sins often come to light when God decides to expose them.
The Vicar reminded the congregation that peace is found in Jesus for those who trust in Him, challenging Christians to shift their focus from material wealth and money to Jesus, the Prince of Peace. He also cautioned believers that while the body is a temple of the Lord, it can lead one into sin and away from God’s mercy.
Kham Kirakurate, the head of laity at St. Luke’s Kahoko Mitooma Church of Uganda, highlighted the church’s commitment to development. He revealed that the church has already met its diocesan quota for 2025 and is now planning to construct a new parish church.
“Our current church is too small, and we need a larger building to accommodate the growing number of believers in the area,” he explained.
Rev. Edson Nabasa, the parish priest of St. Luke’s Kahoko Mitooma Church, outlined several priority projects for 2025. These include coffee growing, banana planting, and initiatives to empower education, all aimed at fostering development in the community.
Amanya Rodgers, the Treasurer of the Presidential Advisory Committee on Exports and Industrial Development (PACEID) in Rukungiri, encouraged the congregation to prioritize vocational education. He highlighted its critical role in job creation and economic growth.
He noted that PACEID, through the Directorate of Industrial Training (DIT), is awarding certificates to Ugandans skilled in various hands-on activities. Rodgers urged skilled individuals to take advantage of this opportunity and comply with the certification process.
