China Henan Construction Company (CHICO) Ltd which is constructing the Kanungu – Rukungiri road, has donated 100 iron sheets to Katete Primary School in Katete sub-county in Kanungu district to help in renovating the roof of a three-classroom block.
The iron sheets were delivered to the school premises by CHICO officials on Tuesday and received by the Kanungu district RDC.
Speaking at the event, the Katete sub-county district Councillor Hon Emmanuel Bizimana thanked the RDC Kanungu Mr. Ambrose Amanyire Mwesigye who lobbed the iron sheets for creating useful relations with the contractor and appreciated CHICO for their support to the school.
On his part, RDC Mwesigwa thanked CHICO for always responding positively whenever called upon for support which part of their Corporate Social Responsibility.
He also applauded CHICO for the roadwork which has eased mobility from Kanungu to Rukungiri.
Katete Primary School is the third School in the district to be supported with roofing material by the CHICO construction company.
Parents and teachers expressed their happiness for the donation which they said will help them to re-roof the dilapidated strucutes at school.
