Mr. Micheal Musime, the Chairperson of LC3 Nyarushanje Sub County in Rukungiri District, has condemned the rising domestic violence in the region and called for repentance and responsibility. He voiced this challenge on Sunday, May 19, 2024, while officiating Mary’s Day Celebration at St. Andrew’s Nyamabale Church of Uganda Parish, Rubirizi Archdeaconry, North Kigezi Diocese in Bunono Parish, Nyarushanje Sub County.

Musime highlighted the high number of family disputes in Nyarushanje Sub County and suggested that adopting the day’s preaching could bring stability to families.

Oliva Nshabomwe, the Mothers Union Chairperson at St. Andrew’s Nyamabale Church of Uganda, preached about the exemplary life of the Virgin Mary. She encouraged girls to abstain from premarital sex, remain faithful in marriage, and support their husbands by undertaking activities that reduce household expenses.

Rev. Erasmus Barangira, the Priest of Nyamabale Church of Uganda Parish, assisted by retired Reverends Wilson Twiine and James Kyomukama, urged women to celebrate Mary’s Day and emulate the humility of the Virgin Mary to foster harmonious families.

John Nshabomwe, the Head of Laity at Nyamabale Church of Uganda Parish, commended Rev. Erasmus Barangira for his transformative faith efforts, which have attracted members from other religions and promoted development.

During the service, Apophia Bashabe renewed her baptism in the Anglican faith, having defected from the Pentecostal Church. Monica Ainamaani, who transferred from the South Ankole Diocese where she got married, was welcomed into the Mother’s Union. Bonita Nahwera renewed her baptism after converting from Roman Catholicism.

Monica Ainamaani, who took her marriage oath outside Nyamabale Church of Uganda and was welcomed, expressed her intention to join the Mother’s Union for marital guidance.
