A community development officer in Rwampara District is in Police custody for soliciting money from Parish development Model Groups
Baguma Didas the Community Development Officer (CDO) Rweibogo Town council, Bugamba Subcounty’ in Rwampara District was arrested over extortion of Parish Development Model Beneficiaries.
Baguma was arrested today (Wednesday) on orders of Robert Atuhairwe Rwase the Rwampara Resident District Commissioner.
His arrest came after r a tip-off from the Residents who accused him of soliciting bribes from Parish Development Model Beneficiaries during group registration.
The president’s representative intimated that Baguma upon arrest admitted to having solicited bribes from the PDM beneficiaries to enable him to make for them group Constitutions.
He adds that Baguma is said to have solicited money amounting to Ugx.34,000 from every group.
Atuhairwe states that Baguma Didas is now being held at Nyeihanga Police Station from where he will be produced before courts of law to answer to charges of Corruption and disrupting government programs.
