Principal Judge Fravian Zeija on Tuesday urged leaders in Bushenyi District to provide the land title for the plot allocated to the judiciary for constructing the Bushenyi High Court.
Zeija emphasized the judiciary’s commitment to addressing the longstanding request from the people of Greater Bushenyi for a high court circuit, aiming to ensure timely justice.
Speaking at the commissioning of the Bushenyi High Court Circuit in Bushenyi Ishaka Municipality, Zeija stated that if the district couldn’t produce the land title promptly, the judiciary had identified alternative options, such as establishing high courts in Ibanda and Ntungamo Districts and utilizing available resources for construction.
In response, Bushenyi District LC V Chairman Jafari Basajjabalaba noted that the district council had already allocated the land for the high court project. He reassured that the process of obtaining the land title had begun some time ago and estimated it would be completed in less than a month.
Basajjabalaba emphasized the district’s determination not to let such a vital project slip away.
