In a significant development within the North Kigezi Diocese, the diocesan council has announced a major restructuring, involving promotions and transfers of several priests during a council meeting held at the diocesan headquarters on Friday.
According to a circular received by our reporter, Rev. Dickens Baguma, formerly the Parish priest of Nyakeina, has been elevated to the position of Archdeacon of Nyakisoroza Archdeaconry in Nyakishenyi sub-county. Simultaneously, Rev. Benson Akankwasa, the previous parish priest of Kitazigurukwa Church of Uganda, has been promoted to serve as the Archdeacon of Buhunga Archdeaconry.
In further changes, Ven Amatsiko Niwegariho has been moved from Rujumbura Archdeaconry to assume the role of the Dean of the cathedral Kinyasaano. He is succeeded by Ven. Dickson Kakanyisa, formerly the archdeacon of Bwanga and now appointed as the archdeacon of Rujumbura Archdeaconry.
Ven. Capt. Jaron Atusinguza has been transferred from Nyabitete Archdeaconry to Rubirizi Archdeaconry in Nyarushanje sub-county. Additionally, Rev. Lamech Muramuzi has been relocated from Besania Prayer Mountain to All Saints Church Nyakariro Church of Uganda.
Rev. Colins Tugatungire, who previously served as the diocesan treasurer, has been reassigned to be the chaplain of Kisizi Hospital. Rev. Ronald Natuhwera, formerly the diocesan Estates Manager, now assumes the role of Diocesan Father’s Union Coordinator. He was succeeded by Mugabe Alex Nathan, who is also the mayor of Kebison Town Council.
In a noteworthy change, Rev. Enock Karamuzi, the former diocesan secretary, has been transferred to Nyabiteete as the Archdeacon. He is succeeded by Ven. Erick Beingana Mugyenzi, the former Dean of Emmanuel Cathedral Kinyasaano.
