Over the weekend, residents in the Tooro region found themselves yearning for more excitement as Boona FM, joined by its listeners from Kigezi and Ankole regions, stormed Fort Portal tourism city for its inaugural tour in Tooro.

The event, which drew thousands of revelers, was hosted by Boona FM in collaboration with Comedy Store Uganda at Buhinga Stadium. Attendees reveled in the good vibes provided by local and national comedians and musicians.

The business community in the tourism city couldn’t help but smile as hotels emptied, with no saucepans holding food, accommodations fully booked, and bars running dry. Even Chapati Siikas found themselves ordering more flour to keep up with the demand for additional chapatis.

Musicians took the stage one after another, captivating the audience to the point where some revelers couldn’t resist joining them onstage, proving that the music was truly hitting the right notes.

Revelers who shared their thoughts with this reporter praised Boona Radio for its innovative initiatives, impacting not only Rukungiri but the entire country.

Local leaders, including LC 3 Chairpersons Benon Mugisha of Buhunga in Rukungiri, Rwanyakibale Ivan of Rugarama North subcounty in Ntungamo district, and Ngabirano Denis of the southern division in Rukungiri municipality, lauded Boona FM for engaging listeners in such events. Mugisha highlighted previous events like the Motor Rally in 2021, the Annual Event Ekigutuuro, and the ongoing Boona FM Cup with a 3 million Uganda shillings prize for the winners.

Excitement ran high as people from Rukungiri explored Fort Portal, seizing the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to visit places previously only heard about on radios and television, such as the Kazinga Channel, Lake Rutoto, and the Hima Cement factory.

Despite initial terror threats causing panic, Boona FM’s management declared the tour a success.

In an official statement, they expressed gratitude to everyone who attended and contributed to the event’s success. They apologized to Boona FM 91.8 fans for any deviations from expectations, promising a better experience next time. Special thanks were extended to Mr. Alex Muhangi of Comedy Store Ug for the partnership, the manager of Boona FM 91.8 and staff for their commitment, security leadership in Rukungiri, Kasese, and Fort Portal, transport service providers, and the team of influencers in Rukungiri, Mbarara, Kampala, and Fort Portal. The management concluded by urging everyone to keep their love for Boona FM 91.8 growing.
