The Bishop of Kabale Diocese, Rt. Rev. Callist Rubaramira, has called on married couples to put God at the center of their relationships, saying that faith and trust in Him are the true foundation for a strong and blessed marriage.

Speaking on Saturday during the holy matrimony of Anantoli Mucunguzi, Director of Archcivil Contractors and Builders Limited, and his bride, Akankunda Doreen, at Christ the King Church in Kabale, Bishop Rubaramira emphasized that God provides the strength and energy needed to build families.

He encouraged the couple to emulate the love of Jesus Christ and to follow St. Paul’s teachings on love, stressing that husband and wife should work as one for the growth of their home and family.

“None can develop alone. God has given you many gifts, and you should use them together. A woman can’t be developmental without a husband; a good woman finds a good man for their development,” Bishop Rubaramira said before blessing the couple.

The function was attended by several dignitaries, including State Minister of Finance (General Duties) Hon. Henry Musasizi, Rubanda District Woman MP aspirant Hon. Evelyne Kikafunda, Rubanda County East MP hopeful Biryabarema Jogo Kenneth, Kabale LCV Chairperson Nelson Nshangabasheija, Rubanda LCV Chairperson Stephen Kasyaba, and Rubanda District Youth Chairperson Niwagaba Ivan Ubican, among others.

Re-echoing Bishop Rubaramira’s message, Minister Musasizi advised Anantoli to love his wife unconditionally and to work hard for the prosperity of their home.

“On behalf of the Government of Uganda, I urge not only you, Anantoli, but also all men out there, to work hard for the development of your homes. Trust me, if you have nothing you’re bringing home, this woman won’t give you your full respect as her husband and head of the household,” Musasizi said.

The Minister also commended Mucunguzi for his outstanding work as a contractor in Rubanda District, describing him as a trusted friend introduced to him by Rubanda District Chairperson Stephen Kasyaba.

Meanwhile, Musasizi revealed that the Government of Uganda is planning to establish an airport at Nyakasharara in Mbarara to ease global air travel and boost national revenue.

He explained that the new airstrip would create a shorter alternative route between South America and China, cutting travel time by nearly 20 hours.

“Currently, a flight between South America and China takes about 42 hours. With the new route, it will take 9 hours from South America to Mbarara, and 11 hours from Mbarara to China, reducing the journey to only 20 hours,” Musasizi revealed.

He added that President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni met potential investors on Friday evening to discuss the project, which is expected to generate significant income for Uganda once completed.
