Kabale Diocese has been called to walk a collective “pilgrimage of hope,” as Rt. Rev. Callist Rubaramira urged Christians to embrace unity, renewal, and moral transformation during and beyond the Jubilee Year celebrations.

While presiding over the climax of the Jubilee Year for Rushoroza Deanery, Bishop Rubaramira shifted the focus from ceremony to a deeper, long-term commitment to spiritual rebirth. Addressing Christians from Rushoroza Cathedral Parish, Kyanamira, Maziba, Christ the King, Buhara, Karujanga, and Rwanyana, he reminded them that true renewal begins with individual hearts but must flow into families, communities, and society.

“We are pilgrims of hope,” he said, emphasizing that the Church is calling believers to walk together in faith, perseverance, and spiritual focus.
He stressed that hope—rooted in prayer and guided by the Holy Spirit—should shape daily decisions, personal conduct, and community life.

As the Church enters the Advent season, the Bishop used the moment to rally the faithful toward spiritual preparedness, describing Advent as a journey that reconnects Christians to the first coming of Christ and opens their hearts to His continued presence in the world today.

“Be ready to receive Jesus whenever He knocks,” he urged. “Allow the Son of God to change you into His true children.”

He warned against moral complacency and urged Christians to reflect Christ in both word and action. “Renew yourselves… change your behavior so others may see you are children of God,” he said, challenging the faithful to radiate the light of Christ in a world often filled with temptation and confusion.

Bishop Rubaramira also placed special emphasis on penance and confession as tools for rekindling spiritual life. He encouraged Christians not to delay repentance, saying Christ is always ready to guide those who recognize their weaknesses and seek His help.

The celebration attracted thousands of worshippers and several political leaders, reflecting the Diocese’s broad influence in the region. Present were Kabale District Woman MP Hon. Catheline Ndamira Atwakiire, Ndorwa East MP Hon. Wilfred Niwagaba, Kabale Municipality MP Hon. Nicholas Thadeus Kamara, among others.
