The Bishop of South Ankole Diocese, Rt. Rev. Nathan Ahimbisibwe has asked the youth to correct themselves and discover where they go wrong if they are to achieve their goals in life.

He noted that while some have already fallen victim to sin and misdeeds, they can correct themselves, discover the meaning of life, and restore their hope without abandoning what they crave in life.

He was speaking on the sidelines of the closure of the 3-day 10th South Ankole Diocese Youth Convention held at Kyamate Secondary School in Ntungamo Municipality.

He emphasized that with a large percentage of the population in the country being youth, they need to be trained and given full esteem to face the challenges of the world, especially those they do not get training for while in school.

Preaching earlier during the convention, the Commissioner for Sports in the Ministry of Education, Rev. Can. Dancuns Mugumya, cautioned youth against following a bandwagon into sin or causing violence. He asked them to always protect their peers.

Rev. Deacon Philip Baitwa asked the youth to seek redemption even when they feel they may have sinned and gone astray, as God seeks to bring them back in the right direction.

Adivan Mbababazi, who presided over the closing of the convention, challenged the youth to make wise choices and avoid greed, as it may lead to destruction.

Several speakers, including Ms. Lillian Ahimbisibwe, Rev. Dr. Lydia Kitayimbwa, Rev. Augustus Ainebyona, and Rev. Robertson Agaba, challenged the youth on the misuse of new media and freedoms, saying these could lead to contemptuous habits.
