South Ankole Diocese Bishop Rt Rev Nathan Ahimbisibwe has called on Christians to promote a message of hope and positivity, urging them to move away from spreading discouraging news about suffering, death, and oppression.
Delivering his Easter Sunday sermon at St. Mathew’s Cathedral in Kyamate, Bishop Ahimbisibwe emphasized that Easter should be a season of good news, even for those facing life’s many challenges. He encouraged believers to be sources of encouragement and to share uplifting messages that inspire hope in their communities.
The Bishop also highlighted the importance of hard work, noting that in the face of growing financial challenges and widespread hardship, Christians should engage in productive activities, particularly agriculture, to support their families and strengthen their communities.
He further encouraged Christians to remain committed and active in their faith, becoming “messengers” who spread positivity and uplift others in difficult times.
Across the region, hundreds of Christians gathered in churches to celebrate Easter Sunday, a day observed worldwide in remembrance of the sacrifice of Jesus Christ, believed in Christian teaching to have died on the cross for the sins of humanity.
