NELSON K

Ven. Ronald Natuhweera has urged Christians of Kahoko–Mitooma Church of Uganda to rely on patience, regular prayer, and reconciliation to overcome daily life challenges in their families. He called for joint efforts and unity towards the construction of their new church.

The Nyakagyeme Archdeacon came to deliver this message while preaching during a Sunday service and Thanksgiving ceremony held at Kahoko–Mitooma Church of Uganda under Nyakagyeme Archdeaconry, North Kigezi Diocese.

Ven. Natuhweera called on Christians to draw closer to God during this Lent period, urging them to pray daily, sacrifice everything they have including their bodies to God, and abstain from evil deeds that can ruin their holiness and lead to spiritual downfall. He encouraged them to fully repent and reconcile with their fellow Christians, share the little they have with others, and have the courage to help the needy.

He condemned family heads for giving the devil room to win over them. He criticized men for being careless in serving God and for failing to attend worship services every Sunday, unlike women who have been trying to pray, worship the Almighty, fast, and attend church services. However, he also blamed women for completely failing to reconcile with fellow Christians from the bottom of their hearts.

Meanwhile, Rev. Ronald Natuhweera together with his wife, Jolly Natuhweera, vowed support on behalf of the entire Nyakagyeme Archdeaconry towards the construction of the new Kahoko–Mitooma Church of Uganda. He gave them hope and motivation to complete it soon. However, he warned Christians not to leave the construction work to a few individuals but to join efforts, cooperate in unity, and show willingness to serve the living God.

Meanwhile, at the conclusion of the worship and thanksgiving ceremony, there was also distribution of gifts to some Christians.

The Kahoko–Mitooma Church of Uganda Head of Laity, Mr. Kham Kirankurate, hailed Christians for trying to support the church by contributing the little they have. However, he called for continued cooperation, joint efforts, and support from every Christian towards the construction of the new church. In a special way, he hailed the North Kigezi Bishop, B. Onesmus Asiimwe, for always supporting them and encouraging them to get involved in developmental projects such as coffee growing and many others which have contributed to the church’s development.

The Kahoko–Mitooma Church of Uganda priest, Rev. Edison Nabaasa, hailed his church members who have sacrificed their time, properties, and money. However, he prioritized thanking all the Nyakagyeme Archdeaconry church leaders who joined their service in support, especially the North Kigezi Bishop, Onesmus Asiimwe; their Archdeacon, Ven. Natuhweera; and his wife, Jolly Natuhweera, who visited them for the first time and promised to make their new church a priority among other churches under construction.
