The Archbishop of the Church of Uganda, The Most Rev. Dr. Steven Kazimba Mugalu, has arrived in Ntungamo for his three-day pastoral tour of South Ankole Diocese—his first since assuming office four years ago.

The Archbishop was welcomed by the South Ankole Diocese Bishop, Rt. Rev. Nathan Ahimbisibwe, and Christians in Ntungamo at 4 p.m. The congregation marched through town to the diocesan headquarters at St. Matthew Cathedral, Kyamate.

Speaking at the cathedral, Dr. Kazimba thanked the Christians for their warm welcome, noting that it was a blessing to be in the diocese.

Bishop Ahimbisibwe announced that Dr. Kazimba will visit two archdeaconries, Kutunga and Nyakyera, before leading a service at Kyamate on Sunday. During his visit, he will commission several projects, including the Mothers’ Union Conference Centre, health and education facilities, among others.

The visit coincides with the 14th-anniversary celebrations of the foundation of South Ankole Diocese.
