Police in Bushenyi District are investigating the mysterious death of a 64-year-old man under unclear circumstances.
The incident occurred on December 18, 2024, at Peak Hotel Bushenyi, located in Bushenyi-Ishaka Municipality.
Marcial Tumusiime, the Greater Bushenyi Police Spokesperson, confirmed the incident and identified the deceased as Rugasa Mpijjah Wahab, a 64-year-old employee of Global Tea Factory and a resident of Mayanga, Kizinda-Kigooma Town Council in Bushenyi District.
According to reports, the deceased had checked into Peak Hotel seeking massage services. After receiving the massage, he proceeded to the sauna for a steam bath. About 30 minutes later, the sauna attendant, identified as Alex Mujuni, found him lying unconscious on the floor.
Mujuni immediately alerted his colleagues, and they rushed the victim to Kampala International Teaching Hospital Ishaka for treatment. Unfortunately, he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
Tumusiime stated that the body had no visible external injuries, and at the time of the incident, the deceased was the only client in the sauna.
