Marine Police operating on lake Bunyonyi Kabale District are investigating circumstances under which 34 year old man drowned in lake Bunyonyi on Friday
Elly Maate the Kigezi Region police spokesperson identified the deceased as Orikiriza Believe 34 a resident of Kagasha Village Butenga Kabale district
ASP Elly Maate revealed that a a boat in which the deceased was travelling from Rutindo market going back to his home capsized when it met strong waves w
His body was recovered by marine police and locals and was handed over to relatives for burial.
Maate warned the public around lake Bunyonyi that nobody is supposed to travel without protective gear that can help in case of danger.
The case of death drowning incident was registered at Kabale Central Police station under reference number SD 07/06/01/2023.
