Police in Rubirizi District are investigating circumstances under which a 28-year-old man ended his life by hanging.
Fred Ayebazibwe, aged 28, old Mukiga by tribe and a resident of Kisita A cell, Mugyera parish, Katanda sub county, Rubirizi District hanged himself over misunderstandings with his wife.
According to Tiwangye Keremensia the area chairperson of Kisita A cell, Mugyera parish, Katanda sub county in Rubirizi district who reported the matter to police, the deceased and his wife Jackline Kyosimire always had family quarrels arising from the man drinking too much alcohol, stealing household items, utensils inclusive for sale in exchange for alcohol,
He said that on 11/02/2023 at around 9:00pm the deceased went missing and a case of disappearance was reported on 13/02/2023 at Katerera police station.
However a few hours after reporting, Tiwangye mobilized the local residents who mounted a search and the deceased was found hanging on a tree using a mosquito ne about 200 meters from his home.
Marcal Tumusiime the greater Bushenyi police spokesperson said a team of police officers rushed to the scene and the body was retrieved and handed over to family members for decent burial.
