Police in Rukiga are investigating the circumstances under which a 27-year-old man was murdered.
The deceased has been identified as Anthony Niwasasira of Nyakabungo cell Nyakasiru parish Bukinda subcounty Rukiga district according to Elly Maate the Kigezi region Police spokesman
Maate explains that the deceased was last seen on 31/7/2022 while drinking from a bar in Nyakasiru trading center where he, picked a quarrel over a woman with a resident only identified as Boaz who was also drinking from the same bar.
Later the two calmed down and went on with drinking after which they both left the bar and took different directions.
Maate states that on the 01/08/2022 at around 5:00PM Niwasasira now deceased, was discovered lying in a trench by one Pamela who called the lc1 chairperson of the area Gadi Byaruhanga.
The chairman rushed to the scene and confirmed the incident, he then informed the area police which notified Rukiga Cps and the homicide team responded
Maate says the Scene was visited by the homicide team, processed, postmortem was done and no suspect has been arrested yet.
