Several judicial officers, civil servants, political figures, and local leaders have paid tribute to Apollo Twine Deusdedit, one of the longest-serving court clerks at Ntungamo Magistrate’s Court, praising his legacy of dedication and selfless service.

Apollo, who passed away on Friday at Itojo Hospital due to blood pressure-related complications, died less than a year after his retirement.

Speaking during the burial at Nyakibigi in Ihunga, Kajara County, Ntungamo District on Sunday, Justice Lawrence Tweyanze, the Resident Judge of Kasese, described the late Apollo as a committed public servant and a transformative figure in the community. He noted that Apollo carried out his duties diligently without the need for supervision, while also fulfilling his family responsibilities.

His immediate supervisor, Senior Magistrate Grade One Edgar Kakuru, eulogized him as a hardworking and devoted officer who played a significant role in improving service delivery within the judiciary.

During the requiem mass, Rev. Fr. Deusdedit Twesigwo’mwe, the Catholic Inspector of Schools in Mbarara Diocese, challenged public servants to remain self-driven and committed if they are to leave a lasting impact beyond their years of service.

Apollo is remembered not only for his public service but also for his entrepreneurial spirit. He developed a suburb in Ntungamo Municipality, which he named Kisangani, where he owned nearly half of the buildings.

He is survived by his wife and four children. He was 62.
