Team Peace Rugambwa for President Museveni has today officially launched a door-to-door campaign aimed at mobilising support for President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni and the NRM party ahead of the 2026 general elections.
The team, led by Madam Peace Rugambwa, has been on the ground since October, traversing 12 districts in South Western Uganda, campaigning for President Museveni and all NRM flag bearers.
Prior to adopting the door-to-door strategy, the team engaged voters through meetings with various interest groups, including ghetto youth, boda boda riders, journalists and influencers, musicians, farmers, among others.
According to Mr. Charles Kwiizera, the Rukungiri District Chairperson for the door-to-door campaign, the strategy is intended to ensure that voters in rural and hard-to-reach areas are directly mobilized to support President Museveni and NRM leaders.
Speaking during the launch, the Senior Presidential Advisor on Agriculture and Local People, who is also the leader of Team Peace for President Museveni, Madam Peace Rugambwa, assured voters that President Museveni has consistently prioritised improving the living standards of Ugandans.
She noted, however, that in some cases, services fail to reach the grassroots due to unfaithful individuals, denying local communities the benefits intended by the President.
Madam Rugambwa emphasized that as a local person entrusted by the President, she is committed to acting as a bridge between the President and the people, ensuring their concerns are heard and addressed.
She further pledged to secure a new ambulance for Karangaro Health Centre II, aimed at reducing maternal deaths in the area.
Madam Rugambwa also underscored the importance of voting NRM flag bearers, saying their presence in Parliament is vital for supporting President Museveni’s vision and advancing national development.
Meanwhile, several NRM flag bearers, including Hon. Mary Paula Kebirungi Turyahikayo, Rukungiri District Woman MP, Gen. Henry Tumukunde, Rukungiri Municipality, Mwesigwa Mathias Rwabugumi, Rubabo County, and Andrewson Katebire, Rukungiri District, commended President Museveni for appointing Madam Peace Rugambwa.
They described her as a committed mobiliser who is playing a key role in strengthening the NRM party at the grassroots level.
