The Archdeacon of Nyakisoroza Archdeaconry in North Kigezi Diocese, Venerable Dickens Baguma, has called on church leaders to live exemplary lives that align with their teachings. He made the call during the installation service of Rev. Godfrey Byaruhanga as the priest of St. John’s Marashaniro Church of Uganda.

In his sermon, Ven. Baguma emphasized the need for church leaders to embody the messages they preach. He reminded them of their responsibilities, which include preaching the Word of God, praying for the sick, conducting burial services, and spearheading development projects within their churches.

He further urged Christians to support and respect their leaders, noting that divisionism within congregations often hampers the work of God.

Kwehangana Roland, the head of laity, commended Rev. Godfrey for his commitment to church work even before his official installation. He highlighted Rev. Godfrey’s efforts in promoting spiritual revival and leading development projects, including the expansion of their church infrastructure. Roland assured him of the congregation’s full support.

In his remarks, Rev. Godfrey Byaruhanga pledged to align St. John’s Marashaniro Church with diocesan programs, such as coffee growing, education initiatives, and timely payment of church quarters. He noted that this is his first installation as a priest, having recently been ordained in the North Kigezi Diocese.

The event was graced by Rubabo County Member of Parliament, Hon. Naboth Namanya, who encouraged parents to prioritize the education of their children, describing it as a foundation for a better future.
