The Rubanda district police have launched an investigation into the mysterious death of Naris Twinamatsiko, a 50-year-old resident of Rutooma Cell in Kashenyi Parish, Bubare Sub-County. Twinamatsiko, who lived alone following his recent separation from his wife, was last seen alive on the evening of October 23 at his home. His estranged wife had left on October 20, returning to her family home in Nshanjare Sub-County.
Concerns arose when Twinamatsiko’s neighbor, Odira Turyashemererwa, noticed the unusual absence of activity around his home for two consecutive days, despite his door being left open. On October 25, at approximately 8:00 p.m., Turyashemererwa informed Kabutura Fulgence, the deceased’s 64-year-old brother, who arrived at the residence and discovered Twinamatsiko lying motionless on his bed.
The incident was reported to the local police in Bubare, and a response team from Rubanda’s Central Police Station documented the scene. Authorities recovered two stones at the site, which have been taken in as evidence for further analysis. A postmortem examination has been conducted, though details of the findings remain undisclosed as inquiries continue.
According to ASP Elly Maate, the Kigezi Regional Police spokesperson, investigations are underway to establish the circumstances surrounding Twinamatsiko’s death. Police urge anyone with information to assist with the ongoing investigation.
