Police in Mitooma District are searching for unknown assailants who murdered a 40-year-old man.
The incident occurred on March 24, 2025, at around 10:00 PM in Nsitsa Village, Nyabubare Parish, Kabira Sub-county, Mitooma District.
Marcial Tumusiime, the Greater Bushenyi police spokesperson, confirmed the incident and identified the deceased as Arthur Turyakiira, 40, a resident of the aforementioned address.
Reports indicate that the deceased was found lying unconscious, having been severely beaten by unknown individuals. He was first taken to Dr. Muhumuza’s Clinic in Kabira and later transferred to Kitagata General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
George Twongyirwe, 64, who reported the case to the police, stated that the victim’s body had multiple injuries inflicted by blunt objects. He explained that the deceased was assaulted approximately 100 meters away from his home while returning from his paternal uncle’s residence.
Tumusiime added that the body is currently at Kitagata General Hospital Mortuary awaiting a postmortem examination as investigations into the matter continue.
