Parents have been urged to embrace proper nutrition and hygiene in their families during the holidays to promote healthy and mentally stable children.

The call was made today, 15th November 2025, by Jackson Kumanya, the Head of Laity at Kajwamushana Church of Uganda Parish in North Kigezi Diocese, while officiating at the Top Class graduation ceremony at Nyakanyinya Primary School in Ruhinda Sub County, Rukungiri District.

Jackson emphasized the importance of good nutrition in protecting the brain for proper thinking capacity and safeguarding the body against malnutrition for long-term well-being.

The Head Teacher, Gerald Ahimbisibwe Gabito, asked parents to avoid transferring pupils, stressing that familiarization with the school environment plays a key role in academic improvement.

Charity Nuwagaba, a parent and Vice Chairperson of the Nursery Section Oversight Committee, commended teachers for ensuring quality education and highlighted the importance of graduation ceremonies in inspiring learners to aim higher.

The Head of the Nursery Section, Furida Ndyamuhaki, implored parents to prioritize care and close monitoring of children during the holidays, noting their vulnerability.

Graduands Rina Ashaba, Treva Mugabe, and Agaba Ronnie expressed gratitude for their successful studies and shared their future career dreams of becoming a police officer, driver, and teacher respectively.
