Police in Kisoro are holding Pafura Munezero, a resident of Gafurizo village Karambi parish Nyarubuye sub county Kisoro district for the alleged murder of his biological father, Yonesani Bwemera of the same address.
According to Elly Maate, the Kigezi region police spokesman, Police received a report from Habumuremyi Maxim 50, the area chairperson, who alleged that on 21/12/2022 at around 09:00 AM the suspect hit his father with a hoe on the head for yet unknown reasons, injuring him critically
The suspect fled into hiding.
Maate says the relatives of the victim rushed him to St Francis hospital Mutolere for treatment where he was later referred to Mbarara Regional Referral hospital where he succumbed to his wounds on 25/12/2022 at about 11 00PM.
On learning of the e death, the chairperson of the village mobilized residents who searched for the suspect, arrested him and took him to Kisoro police station where a case of murder was registered
