Police in Sheema District are currently searching for a middle-aged man who is accused of verbally insulting his biological father.

Marcial Tumusiime, the spokesperson for Greater Bushenyi Police, has identified the suspect as Turibamwe Darius, a resident of Kyamurari cell in Kyamurari South ward, Bugongi Town Council, Sheema District.

According to reports, on October 6, 2023, Turibamwe Darius returned home and demanded 30,000 Ugandan Shillings from his father, Steven Korirwe, claiming it was the money he had earned from selling stones.

When his father informed him that he did not have the money, Turibamwe Darius became violent. He entered the house, grabbed an axe, and used it to strike his father on the head, causing injuries.

He then proceeded to strike his father’s hands, rendering the man unconscious.

Arinaitwe Denis, a 46-year-old resident of the same address who reported the incident to the police, attributed the incident to domestic violence.

He also mentioned that Turibamwe Darius had recently been released from prison on unrelated charges. The victim was initially taken to AGM Clinic in Bugongi Trading Center, but later that night, he was transferred to Kampala International Teaching Hospital Ishaka for further medical care.
