In a harrowing ordeal, Ingrid Turinawe, a human rights activist, along with her son T Bayern Turinawe, reported a disturbing incident of police brutality.

This was after a lengthy struggle to get their case recorded, at Katwe police station.

The incident, documented under Case Ref No: SD- 95/09/24, involves allegations against a police officer identified as Mr. Tumwesigye Emma, and two other individuals whose names are yet to be disclosed.

According to reports, T Bayern Turinawe received a distress call on his phone, claiming that his assistance was urgently needed to help an accident victim. Skeptical of the caller’s intentions, he insisted on meeting them in person rather than rushing to the scene. Alerting his football friends, they covertly accompanied him.

In a shocking turn of events, T Bayern Turinawe was forcibly apprehended at gunpoint by Officer Tumwesigye Emma, who allegedly coerced him into revealing the whereabouts of a client who owed money to another individual identified only as Mr. Sam.

Despite the efforts of his friends, who trailed the vehicle on motorbikes through various neighborhoods for hours, T Bayern Turinawe was eventually abandoned at Katwe police station after being taken on a winding journey across the city.

Ingrid Turinawe expressed gratitude to all who supported them during this ordeal, particularly highlighting the bravery of T Bayern’s football friends who assisted in his rescue. The Turinawes are now seeking justice and an official explanation from the authorities regarding the events that transpired.
