Educationists in Rukungiri are tasking the government to add more funds to the education sector for proper implementation of the new bridged curriculum in 2020.
Robert Mugabe, the head teacher of Rukungiri high school says that they wouldn’t be having any glitches with the implementation of the new curriculum but they are being constrained by inadequate funds to purchase materials for the learners.
Mugabe added that the government should equip teachers with the skills required to give quality education to the learners in fields of baking, building digging among others.
In 2020 the government introduced a new revised curriculum aimed at ensuring that learners attain skills that can help them in the world of work after their studies.
The mission of the government was to see learners excelling both academically and with skills to make them job creators rather than job seekers.
Precious Atuhaire, Victor Kirabo, and Simpson Niwahereza all students at Rukungiri High School hailed the government for introducing the new bridged Curriculum which is equipping them with skills to help them hustle in this unemployment world.
They however said, though they have implemented the new obliged curriculum that’s skill based they are still being challenged by a lack of market for their products.
