Police in Kabale are investigating circumstances surrounding the death of 20-year-old Sarah Naturinda a second-year student at Kabale University and resident of Kamukira cell, Mwanjari ward, Southern division, Kabale municipality.
According to Elly Maate, the Kigezi region police spokesman a case of disappearance was reported at Kabale police station on 21/03/2023, by Turyatemba Charles, the landlord to the deceased of the deceased one Sarah by the landlord Turyatemba Charles.
This was after the father of the deceased Ndanganwa Naris from Bishaki village, Nyombe parish, Kahungye sub-county Kabale district, came to check on his daughter, after taking two days without hearing from her.
Maate further explains that when the father and others accessed the room which the deceased was renting, they found her dead, with her body lying on the bed facing down.
Her hands were tied with a cloth and both the mouth and the nose were also covered with a cloth.
Eye witness last saw the prime suspect Arinaitwe Denis who was the boyfriend, of the deceased, in her room, on 19/03/2023, at around 07:00AM, moments before he went to the Kabale central police station barracks where he shot his ex-wife Police constable Komuhangi Caroline to death.
Police were notified, the scene was visited by Crime scene officers and the body was retrieved and conveyed to Kabale referral hospital Mortuary for postmortem.
The suspect, Denis Arinaitwe, is still admitted at Kabale referral hospital under guard by Kabale police officers, after injuring himself the day he shot dead his ex-wife.
