As part of its annual “Member Appreciation Week,” Buyanja SACCO on Thursday donated branded reflectors to its customers, particularly boda boda riders, as a gesture of gratitude and commitment to their safety on the roads.
The donation exercise took place on Thursday, 16th October 2025, and targeted riders from Stanbic Bank, Go Down, Mango, Igwanjuro, and Mubusheregyeni boda boda stages in Rukungiri. Over 100 riders benefited from the initiative, which aims to support their daily activities while promoting road safety.
Buyanja SACCO General Manager Madam Olive Nayebare said the initiative is part of the SACCO’s tradition of giving back to its loyal customers. She noted that throughout the week, the SACCO will be visiting different areas to distribute various items to different groups as a token of appreciation for their continued support.
Madam Nayebare emphasized that the distribution of reflectors not only enhances the visibility and safety of riders but also strengthens the bond between the SACCO and its members. She encouraged riders to maintain their motorcycles in good condition to attract more customers and revealed that the SACCO has plans to ensure all members benefit during the appreciation week.
She further urged the general public to join SACCOs, citing their positive impact on members’ financial growth. Nayebare also called on unemployed youth to consider joining Buyanja SACCO and take advantage of its boda boda loan scheme to start income-generating activities.
Beneficiaries, including riders from Go Down and Mango stages, expressed gratitude to Buyanja SACCO for its continued support. They commended the management for regularly engaging them through meetings and training sessions that help improve their savings culture and business management skills.
The riders added that such initiatives demonstrate Buyanja SACCO’s genuine concern for the welfare of its members and encouraged fellow riders and other interested individuals to join the SACCO and benefit from its member-friendly services.
