In a devastating incident on the Rukungiri-Ntungamo road, eight people are feared dead following an accident.

The taxi, which was traveling from Rukungiri to Kampala, was reportedly changing a tyre when the bus, en route from Kampala to Rukungiri, veered off the road and collided with it.

The tragic accident occurred at Kakiika Muruka parish in Nyamunuka Town Council, Ntungamo district at around 6 AM.

The taxi, registration number UBN 337H, was driven by Robert Arineitwe and was carrying ten passengers.

According to eyewitnesses, only two of the passengers survived.

The bus involved in the collision which belongs to Kasaaba Bus Company has the registration number UAP 385.

Police have arrived at the scene but have yet to release an official statement.

Further details are awaited as the investigation continues.
