Boona FM’s ongoing Ekigutuuro Kya Boona FM Ruhenda Myambi 2025 activations continued to draw crowds and excitement as Ruhinda Sub County Select FC handed Boona FM FC a tough 3:0 defeat in a thrilling friendly match held yesterday at Rwabukoba Primary School playground.

The event, part of a broader Boona FM outreach campaign across Rukungiri and neighboring areas, attracted a massive audience from across Rujumbura, eager to witness the footballing action and community engagement.

Before the main match, Boona FM staff team took on Rwabukoba Secondary School staff in a friendly encounter, edging them 1:0. The game was not only a morale booster but also served to strengthen ties between the radio station and the education institution.

Mr. Sabiti Erick, Head Teacher of Rwabukoba Secondary School, commended Boona FM for championing community development and nurturing local talent. “As a school, we are ready to support Boona FM in their mission to develop Ugandan talents,” he said.

Boona FM Station Manager, Mr. Kakyene Namanya, emphasized the station’s commitment to talent development and announced upcoming activities during the grand Ekigutuuro celebration slated for July 12, 2025. Highlighting the community-centered approach, Namanya revealed that a bicycle racing competition will be held with exciting prizes: a brand-new bicycle for the winner, UGX 200,000 for the second-place finisher, and UGX 100,000 for the third.

Meanwhile, Boona FM Director and aspiring Rukungiri District Woman MP 2026, Hon. Mary Paula Turyahikayo, encouraged voters to prioritize leaders with a passion for community development. “If entrusted with leadership, I will tirelessly work for the development of our people,” she pledged.

The ongoing Ekigutuuro activations are not just about sport—they are a movement uniting communities through talent, culture, and shared goals for a better Rukungiri.
