The Chief Magistrate’s Court in Kisoro has summoned the Kisoro District Council and the Kisoro District Local Government to respond to an application filed by six members of the Kisoro District Service Commission challenging an ongoing recruitment process.

According to court documents dated May 5, 2026, the applicants — Erastus Nshaka, Fr. Safari Emmanuel, Richard Turamuhawe, Peace Mbabazi, Gaudensia Busingye, and Francesca Mugisha — petitioned the court seeking a temporary injunction against the district authorities.

The application, filed under Section 98 of the Civil Procedure Act and relevant provisions of the Civil Procedure Rules, stems from a dispute related to a recruitment advert issued on March 30, 2026.

The applicants are seeking court orders restraining the respondents, their agents, or anyone acting under their authority from halting or interfering with the ongoing recruitment process. They are also seeking to block any resolutions aimed at suspending or interdicting them, as well as preventing interference with their duties pending the determination of the main application.

Court records indicate that all parties have been directed to appear before the Chief Magistrate’s Court on May 26, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. for the hearing of the application.

In addition to the injunction, the applicants are also asking the court to award them the costs of the application.

The case highlights growing tensions surrounding recruitment and administrative decisions within Kisoro District, with the court expected to provide interim guidance as the matter awaits full hearing and determination.
