The Archbishop of the Church of Uganda, His Grace Dr. Steven Kazimba Mugalu, has called on Ugandans to shun electoral violence and embrace unity regardless of political affiliation.

Preaching at the grand opening of All Saints Church Rwamatunguru and the thanksgiving service of Prof. Henry Mwanaki and his wife, Dr. Sylvia Alinaitwe, the NRM flag bearer for Rukiga Woman MP, Dr. Kazimba stressed the need for peaceful conduct before, during, and after the polls.

He advised politicians to present their plans and achievements to voters through manifestos rather than resorting to hate speech, personal attacks, or creating divisions. The Archbishop emphasized that all political parties and citizens should value one another, as everyone is important in God’s eyes, and work together for the common good.

Dr. Kazimba also encouraged Christians to make full use of the new All Saints Church, warning against letting it remain without active worshippers. He commended the Rwamatunguru community for their faith and unity, describing the church as a symbol of spiritual growth.

During the same event, the National Vice Chairman of PLU, Kaguta Michael Niwagira, urged NRM members to remain united and avoid the mistakes of the previous party primaries to ensure victory over the opposition.

Dr. Alinaitwe noted that the new church would serve both as a center of worship and a catalyst for community development, expressing gratitude to all who supported the project and to Archbishop Kazimba for his guidance from the groundbreaking to the consecration.
