Jessica Alupo, during the centenary celebrations at Our Lady of Good Shepherd Rushoroza Cathedral Parish in Kabale Municipality, reiterated that President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni would be running as a candidate.

President Museveni, questioned about his plans for 2026, declined to comment during his recent end-of-year meeting at State House Entebbe, stating, “We shall talk about that one at the right time.”
In a written message, President Museveni commended missionaries for establishing Churches that contributed to fighting ignorance by building schools and health facilities in Kigezi. He also made a personal contribution of UGX 50 million towards the development of Rushoroza Parish.
Under the theme “Stir into Flame the Gift of God That You Have,” the ceremony commenced with a mass led by the Apostolic Nuncio to Uganda, His Excellency Archbishop Luigi Bianco, assisted by Kabale Diocesan Bishop Rt Rev Callist Rubaramira.
