Five opposition supporters from the Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) party and the National Unity platform party ( NUP) in Kabale district have joined the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) party.

The five that included the forum for democratic change party LCI chairman for Makanga cell, Butobere ward in Central division of Kabale Municipality, Wilson Turinawe, prudence Kasigazi, Eric Bogere and Penelope Kyasimire who have been strong FDC supporters, and Gloria Ayebare of the National Unity platform party in Kabale district said that they have for long   been staunch supporters of the opposition and realized that they don’t have future there

Now, they say that after having seen the light, they made up their minds to join the NRM party, handed over their party cards, and received NRM cards during a  function that was held yesterday at the NRM offices in Kabale municipality.

The function was attended by the Deputy Resident district commissioner for Kabale district Able Bakunda Mushambo,Kabale district NRM administrator Amos Rwansheija, Kabale district NRM Vice-chairperson Pauline Bigirwa, among others.  

Amos Rwasheija, the Kabale district NRM administrator asked new members to follow NRM guidelines and constitution and not to come as opportunists but rather by conviction.

Able Bakunda Mushambo the deputy RDC Kabale district asked them to work hard, defend the party, and double the energy they have been using to oppose NRM.
