Police in Rukiga are holding one suspect for the alleged murder of her husband,
The deceased has been identified as John Kataratambi 58 a Updf Veteran a resident of Nyamirima cell Rwenyangye parish Kamwezi Subcounty Rukiga district.
Elly Mate the Kigezi region police spokesman says the deceased,is alleged to have been murdered by his wife, Sarah Arebo 25 a resident of the same address.
It’s alleged that on 08/05/2022 at around 1300hrs, the suspect left home and went to drink in Nyamirima trading center, while the husband now deceased was left taking care of their two children and his father Kitwekyoma Zavero.
At around 2300hrs in the night, she returned home drunk and a disagreement with her husband ensued as has always been the case
It was today morning when the body of the deceased was found in his kitchen lying in a pool of blood.
Maate says residents assaulted the suspect but she was rescued by Charles Bendakabi the LC2 chairman who alerted the Kamwezi police that rushed her to Kamwezi health center 4 for medication.
The scene was visited, Postmortem done, the body was handed over to relatives for burial and the suspect was later on arrested.
The deceased body was found with a deep cut on the forehead and the panga used was recovered and exhibited.
