A total of 1144 Primary Seven candidates in Rukungiri Municipality are preparing to take their Primary Leaving Examinations in 24 examination centers next Wednesday and Thursday. Mr. Katabazi Alfred Mutuza, the Rukungiri Municipal Education Officer, has confirmed this during an interview with our reporter. He commended both government and private school head teachers for their efforts in preparing these candidates for their final exams.

Mutuza emphasized the importance of creating a conducive environment for the candidates during the examination days. He suggested that pupils from other classes should stay at home during this period to ensure a distraction-free setting. Additionally, he urged head teachers to provide a single meal for all candidates at the examination centers and discouraged candidates from bringing food from home to maintain their health and security.

Mutuza stressed the need to protect the young generation’s future, as there are potential threats to their safety. He encouraged head teachers to provide meals from the schools to prevent any tampering with the candidates’ well-being on their way to the examination centers.

He called upon the church community to pray for the candidates’ success in their final exams, enabling them to progress to higher levels of education. Mutuza also urged the candidates to avoid cheating during the examinations.

Furthermore, he advised head teachers, invigilators, supervisors, and scouts to maintain integrity and avoid any form of misconduct that could tarnish Rukungiri district and municipality’s reputation, which has remained free from malpractice for the past 15 years.
