Senior Presidential Advisor, Francis Batinti, has urged voters to reject divisionism and exercise their right to vote freely in the upcoming general elections.
Batinti made the call on Sunday, 15th November 2025, while officiating at the Bishop’s Annual Appeal Fund (BAAF) at Nyarushanje Parish, Kabale Diocese, representing Esther Rwabugumi. He condemned the divisions brought about by multiparty dispensation, stressing that such enmity threatens national unity and called on voters to embrace brotherhood during the elections.
Rev. Father Innocent Naturinda, the Kabale Diocese Financial Administrator, encouraged farmers in Nyarushanje Sub County to adopt commercial farming to support both their households and the Church. Rev. Father Elias Kasigaire, Parish Priest at Nyarushanje, acknowledged the continued support from Christians and urged them to maintain trust in Church leadership.
Frank Byamugisha, Vice Chairperson of the Parish Council, praised the Bishop for allowing this year’s BAAF to benefit parishes independently, noting that it will help complete Church construction for improved worship. Engineer Silver Byarugaba, Chairperson of the Construction Oversight Committee, reassured Christians to trust in the successful completion of the project.
The event successfully raised 140 million shillings and 10 bags of cement, with Guest of Honour Esther Rwabugumi contributing 10 million shillings.
